Jackson Square
Between 2018 and 2020, Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. provided geotechnical engineering services for a new multi-tenant building in the Jacksonport Business Park in Calgary, Alberta. The building is about 30,000 square feet in size and consists of twelve office and warehouse bays. Our services included a geotechnical investigation during the design phase of the project, and pile installation monitoring, compaction testing, and concrete testing during the construction phase of the project.
Camden Heights
In the summer of 2020, Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. performed a geotechnical investigation for a proposed residential subdivision in Rocky View County, Alberta. The 25.6 acre subdivision will consist of six properties about 3.9 acres in size. A cul-de-sac will be constructed in the centre of the subdivision to provide access to the properties.
Sarcee Dental
Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. provided geotechnical engineering services for the new dental clinic in the Nolan Hill Business Park in Calgary, Alberta. The 3,767 square foot building has a distinctive shape and several unique architectural features. Our services included a geotechnical investigation, soil bearing inspections, compaction testing, and concrete testing. The dental clinic was opened to the public in late 2020.
Residential Fourplex
In the spring of 2020, Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. performed a slope stability assessment for a proposed residential fourplex in the community of Highland Park, in Calgary, Alberta. The assessment included a review of historical aerial photographs, an inspection of the property, borehole drilling, and soils laboratory testing. The stability of the slope on the property was analyzed using limit equilibrium analysis, in which factors of safety were calculated for failure surfaces on a cross sectional profile of the slope. A software package and confirmatory hand calculations were used for the analysis.
Convenience Store and Gas Station
Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. provided geotechnical engineering services for the new convenience store and gas station in Fernie, British Columbia. Our services included a geotechnical investigation during the design phase of the project, and soil bearing inspections, compaction testing, concrete testing, and asphalt testing during the construction phase of the project. The gas station and convenience store were opened in 2020 and currently service Fernie and the traffic passing through the area on Highway 3.
Microtel Inn & Suites
Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. was retained by Premier Building Solution Inc. to provide geotechnical engineering services for the new Microtel Inn & Suites hotel in Kelowna, British Columbia. The four storey hotel consists of a lobby, pool, spa, and exercise room on the first floor, and 65 guest rooms on the three floors above. Our services included a geotechnical investigation, soil bearing inspections, compaction testing, and concrete testing. The hotel was opened in 2020.
Restaurant and Retail Development
In April 2017, Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. performed a geotechnical investigation for a proposed commercial development located in the busy part of the city just east of Deerfoot Trail along 114 Avenue SE. The proposed development consists of a 6,500 square foot building with a restaurant, three retail units, and a drive through. Parking lots have been proposed surrounding the building.
25 Lot Residential Subdivision
Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. performed a geotechnical investigation for a residential subdivision in the northeast community of Saddle Ridge, in Calgary, Alberta. The proposed subdivision will consist of 25 lots and a small public park. Residential streets and an intersection have been proposed to provide access throughout the subdivision.
The Riverside
In the fall of 2017, Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. performed a geotechnical investigation for a proposed six storey townhouse and condominium building located in the bustling inner-city community of Bridgeland. The modern building will provide stunning views of the Bow River and downtown Calgary. A Becker Hammer rig was used to advance the boreholes on the property through the river valley gravels in the area.
89 Avenue Allan Block Retaining Walls
Lone Pine Geotechnical Ltd. undertook the design of two separate Allan Block retaining walls proposed along 89 Avenue NE in northeast Calgary. The walls have been proposed on public property as part of a new residential subdivision and the associated reconstruction of 89 Avenue NE.
